i finally watched jump london, a documentary made in 2003 about parkour. it's not a bad piece, but the moves that they do aren't nearly as impressive as some parkour videos that have been posted on youtube. but as young as this sport is, it's advanced incredibly in the last few years. so in my newfound financial restrictions, i've decided to try my hand at a bit of free running as the cost of it is virtually zero unless i end up with a grevious injury. but then again, i have health care, and i only work in an office anyway. so no big loss.
but i've only spent a few hours running around, jumping on things, climbing walls, and rolling around on the pavement. not much, but it's a start, and a very entertaining one at that. i've read the most important aspect of parkour is the landing and that means rolling a lot. so that's what i'm going to concentrate on for quite some time before i progress to anything more risky. csa banquet was great ^_^ and i got the new ldt shirt! |
